GZ at the WTC 2025 in Stockholm

We are excited to announce that Gall Zeidler Consultants will be at the World Tunnel Congress (WTC) 2025, taking place in Stockholm next week. We are proud to be strongly represented throughout the congress this year, with many of our team members contributing as speakers, working group participants, and session chairs during this prestigious global event.

Technical Presentations

We are pleased to have several of our experts presenting on a diverse range of topics:

  • Vojtech Gall will speak on Monday, May 12th (2:40–3:00 PM) with the presentation “Climate-Induced Design Challenges: Impacts on Natural Terrains and Underground Infrastructure”.
  • Vojtech Ernst Gall will present on Tuesday, May 13th (12:40–12:45 PM): “Continued Development of the ITA Guideline for BIM in Tunnelling.”
  • Toru Higuchi will share insights on Tuesday, May 13th (1:50–2:10 PM): “Use of Artificial Ground Freezing for Sprayed Concrete Lined Cross Passages at Silvertown Tunnel under the River Thames.”
  • On Wednesday, May 14th (12:15–12:20 PM), Vojtech Gall will also present “Construction of a New Passageway Tunnel for Circulation Improvements at Historic Grand Central Station, New York City.”
  • Eleanor Sillerico will present on Wednesday, May 14th (4:18–4:34 PM): “Mechanised Tunnelling under Sensitive Structures in Los Angeles, CA for the LA Metro’s Purple Line Extension Section 3.”

 

Leadership & Involvement in Working Groups

In addition to our presentations, GZ is contributing to the technical development of the tunneling field through leadership roles in ITA Working Groups:

  • Vojtech Gall is Co-Chair of Working Group 19: Conventional Tunnelling and has led the development of a new guideline on Waterproofing. He also serves as Vice Animateur of the group.
  • Nasri Munfah is an active member of Working Group 19, serves on the Technical Committee of the Congress, and will moderate the session “Conventional Tunnelling 1 – Case Studies” on Tuesday, May 13th (1:30–3:00 PM) as Session Chair.
  • Vojtech Ernst Gall is a member of Working Group 22: Information Modelling in Tunnelling, contributing to the evolution of BIM practices in the industry.
