This week, Gall Zeidler Consultants had the pleasure of participating in the Underground Construction Prague 2026 Conference!

The conference was well-attended, bringing together leading professionals from across the underground construction industry. We were proud to have our Principals, Dr. Vojtech Gall and Nasri Munfah, both invited speakers at the conference, along with Senior Tunnel Engineer Petr Hybsky, take the stage to share insights and expertise drawn from major underground infrastructure projects around the world.

Nasri Munfah chaired Session 2 and delivered two presentations at the conference:

• “Underground Space Development as a Catalyst for Urban Growth” presented in Session 5: BIM, Numerical Modelling, Research, Development and Sustainability
• “Ten Recommendations for Avoiding Multi-Contract Disputes in Underground Projects” presented in Session 7: Risk Management, Contractual Relationships and Funding

Dr. Gall presented on “Design and Construction of Urban Tunnels Through Pile Foundations: Case Studies and Applications — The Gateway Program in New York City, Manhattan Contract P1B”, co-authored with Hamed Nejad, PE, GDC Chief Engineer, offering a compelling look at the engineering challenges and innovations behind one of the most significant infrastructure programs in the United States.

Petr Hybsky took the stage during the same session and delivered an excellent presentation on “Principles of Tunnel Face Support in Shield Tunnelling – Historical Perspective and Present Practice.”
