GZ at WTC 2026 in Montreal
We’re excited to be attending the World Tunnel Congress (WTC) 2026 in Montreal, Canada from May 15-21. This year is especially exciting for us, as Gall Zeidler Consultants (GZ) will be exhibiting at the event. Come visit us at Booth #D1114.
Our team is actively involved in technical sessions, ITA working groups, and industry discussions helping shape the future of tunneling and underground infrastructure.
Some highlights include:
🔹 GZ’s Principals Vojtech Gall and Nasri Munfah will participate in ITA-AITES Working Group 19 “Conventional Tunnelling” on Sunday, May 17. As WG-19 Vice Animateur, Vojtech will present a draft paper focused on waterproofing in conventional tunnelling.
🔹 GZ’s Principal Vojtech Ernst Gall is a member of ITA-AITES Working Group 22: Information Modelling in Tunnelling.
- 🔹 Nasri Munfah will have an especially active role throughout WTC 2026, contributing across technical, sustainability, and international leadership forums. His involvement includes:
- Participating in ITA Working Group 19 on Conventional Tunnelling
- Representing the United States at the ITA Special Purpose Sustainability Committee
- Presenting during the WTC Open Session on May 19th at 08:30: “ITA Working Group 19: Design and Construction of Conventional Tunnelling in Urban Setting”
- Co-authoring the paper with Jurg Kunzle which will be presented on May 20th at 16:45pm: “Fit-for-Purpose Obligations in Underground Construction”

- 🔹Hamid Javady:
- The Role of Digital Twins in Structural Health Monitoring, a joint paper with our Senior Tunnel Engineer Elmira Riahi. Hamid will present it on Monday (May 18th, 14:30)
- Enhancing tunnel design and interpretation through borehole televiewer technology (May 19th, 19:15 – 19:30)
WTC is a premier global event that brings together experts and professionals from across the tunneling and underground construction industry.
